This Love
For my wife
Our love when difference finds, delights.
It changes neither, nor gives quarter.
It weathers our occasional fights,
And shakes them off like ducks do water.
It laughs more often than it cries,
But sees no shame in shedding tears.
It faces fails as it does tries,
And talking swiftly slays its fears.
Our love is one that can bicker too,
But over snuggles, hugs and kisses,
Our love is silly, it’s often true,
And mocks its own infrequent misses.
This love is greater than I hoped it could be,
This love that is made of you and of me.
